Greyson was born on October 6th 2016 at 11:57pm. His birth was wildly intense and unmedicated, which was not the plan. He only allowed 20 minutes from my waters breaking to his appearance earthside. While he may have made a dramatic entrance he is anything but dramatic. At 3 months now he is a laid-back soul who rarely stops smiling.
Since I photographed him myself, he newborn session was spread out over several days. The first session was relaxed and involved little posing at 4 days old.
The second session was at 6 days old and he slept like a champ. The plan was a simply bowl setup and a few poses on the beanbag. He was so relaxed that we sped though my whole posing flow in under an hour.
While setting up the shot above and nulling my little one into a deep snooze, my kitten decided the basket was a nice place for a nap. I couldn't resist snapping a few of my fur baby.
My husband, even though he is married to a photographer, isn't keen on getting his picture taken. I think his face in the photo below tells all. He is a great guy and "sucked it up" for a few poses, resulting in one of my favorite Black and White images to date. The family portion of the session was captured at 9 days old with the help of my little sister.
The two images above were captured quickly in-between my 3 year old blowing large, loud raspberries. Sometime you have to be a bit silly to capture the real smiles.
